POETRY

utopian yellow poem

baritone umbers of the bellies red red,
toes,
nose,
no tears -no war, no fear,
lovely washes of sparkling colour -the best kind of book,
nowhere,
still though, ineffable,
words said -so carefully,
lovely, love,
across a wire so soft, not loud,
silk like your voice, in the candles glow,
as I dream, songs of these words dream,
too,
utter,
silly,
invisible,
strings,
weaved back, weaved forth,
like glass beads, made from angels, splattered upon parts of you,
bravest days  -show yourself,
red red,
papier white blossoms,
wisp together,         -vibrato’s contrasting sound, sing,
same,
care,
careful,
notes laced in orange geranium now adorn my crown,
to make me,
to,
fill the sky, I looked up today  -your face in every,
clouds,
not lonely,
never, the minutes -many  -of one hundred years looking back,
red red, covers your face,
blue pedals sprinkled upon the ground  I walk bare,
to the day -to the end,
together,
we,
flock,
like doves,
float like feathers to the green, green, ground,
no fair weather,
utopian yellow,
looked inside me,
now….

FUN FACTS
art and design

PABLO PICASSO
What Do You Know?
The Spanish artist, Pablo Picasso, is ONE of the most noted artists in the history of modernism. As a central figure in the development of cubism, the artist, Pablo Picasso, established his voice within his painting and sculpture as an individual language within creating his own style in the abstraction of his works.

Cubism -is a term for an artistic fragmentation in a sort, that could be seen as even scientific. The word fragment or cubed, has relationships to a word in engineering sciences which is studied in UNIVERSITIES today called fractorial structures. The commonalities of Cubist fragmentation and the scientific studies of fractorials, is an interesting correlation to ponder.

Though moving on to Cubism which is a painter's term that is also studied in UNIVERSITIES today, and was developed in the period of the early modernism development in the arts where recognizable objects are fragmented to show many sides of an object at the same time.  Though there is much more information.  Upon Pablo Picasso establishment of his singular independent painted language within the development of cubism -Pablo found ways to communicate his ideas to a broading audience with great relevance.  Within creating his own style of his works, Mr Picasso stood out in society with fierce stride, that was not well accepted by some people. Though he chose to bring meaning to societal issues anyway which were hidden in the shadows.  And with that, there were also people attached to those issues who had hopes and dreams of more in the universe.
A greater relevance of humanity for people was recognized through Picasso's works with his seemingly drastic styles of work which he continued with even with the disapproval of a few others. PICASSO continued to reveal issues that validated even the meekest in society with the greatest care. Though to understand fully, takes independent intellectual study.

Early years

Pablo Picasso was born on October 25, 1881, in Malaga, Spain. Pablo Picasso was the eldest and only son with two younger sisters. Pablo's father and Pablo's mother were as great an influence as any parents could be. It is said that Pablo's mother was a writer who used her surname to write publicly. A surname is a different name than a persons actual birth name. Often times in today's world a surname is referred to as a pen name. "Penning" is a classic word for writing with a pen.  To write publicly in the news, is not always an easy job, and some used a pen name to protect their identity and privacy. Many in the 21st century use pen names as a trend, though earlier writers who used pen names gain freedom to express very important issues in public news. Journalism always needs people to give a voice to the issues of people in communities, when "we the people" in our little cities are "out of order" or find things "out of order", or see that we as a society "stay in order" within fundamental rights in larger parts of even government -of hopefully all of our communities in the world. MEANING that "we" all have the rights of imminent spiritual domain known as fundamental rights,.. and good journalism is an investigation and exposition of wrong doing, as well, good journalist's other subjects reside as an exploration to benefit humanity with the greatest respect to individual imminent fundamental rights.
It can be confusing at times what good journalism is, or good subject matter is and how it all relates to freedom and spiritual inheritance.  Many lyric
writers throughout history have often told stories which equal  journalistic measure, though with a sense that also reaches humanity through the language of simply sound composition without lyrics. Bach is a good example to listen to, though there are many examples of the expression of a language form in pure music arrangement as a language since the beginning of time.

Though we will save it all for the surname article on another day.

It is rumored that Picasso learned to draw before he could speak. More was rumored that Pablo's father frequently took him to bullfights. Though the bull was a long standing symbol for many other things in life, and the meaning in PICASSO's paintings with a bull requires comparative historical studies in the entirety of world history, to really comprehend Pablo's use of an actual bull in his work.

In 1891 the family moved to La Coruña, where, at the age of fourteen Picasso began studying at the School of Fine Art there. With absolute influence of his mother and father -Picasso, began to developed his artistic strengths as PICASSO had a solid vision to contribute to something larger than simply painting and worked diligently at his life and his work. Picasso's later works would expand to the far reaches of his developed language in painting, and sculpture.

When Pablo's family moved to Barcelona Spain in 1896, Picasso easily gained entrance to the School of Fine Arts there.  A year later Picasso decided to become a student at the Royal Academy of San Fernando in Madrid, Spain. With Picasso's diligent studies, and an even greater amount of independent work to show for it, he was quite accepted.

Picasso is a person who created art which even today provokes many to further investigate what his painting were about. PICASSO'S WORKS TODAY -causes humanity to think and look more closely at the contexts of history with the world surrounding us. With Picasso's timeless quality to understanding his surroundings, PICASSO also understood intrinsic individual freedom of all, which influenced Pablo Picasso. As Mr. PICASSO acted upon his creative ideas, his works became monumentally recognized as more than just a painter. Though not always immediately recognized, and it is very important to note that he was not alone in the contexts of his work, as he knew many other people who were creating work with monumental importance to fundamental freedom. Though within the context of PICASSO's life -world history  -and his placement in the world, Pablo Picasso's work teaches into the history of a world to be, and a world to be looked back at in history with care and rememberance, with the greatest understanding of the power of true independence and respect for all.

Picasso's painted language recognized the most valuable tool we have, "humanistic individual expressions". Picasso's works are of a voice which is recognized more than most painters will ever know. The understanding of why he became influential is within our own further individual investigation of the history of an entire humanity and the arts. With that very lengthy fundamental investigation, humanity is much more united to human care.

Picasso's works are of much discussion still today / yet, without the full knowledge of the historical period of his life and the global history which surrounded the world, one would never realize his messages.

Ask yourself this very simple question:
Why is Picasso so well accepted, even today?
Beyond simply, Picasso's style represented in his paintings to be cubists, what is the content of his work about ?

This is a who, what, when, where and why -puzzle at times,
which is very valuable in solving for our selves.

The direct content inside Picasso's paintings and sculptures requires us to think before we leap into a confined mindset, and we must ask of "what importance" would prompt the excessive LOVE for this artist's works globally.  As we ourselves press-on, as Picasso did, to find out the real meanings in what is imminent in humanity, we could think that just enjoying the work is not PICASSO'S message. And I ask myself, what do we contribute to the individual eminence of our world today?

And why was it so important for PICASSO to validate even the weakest of humanity -instead of painting the lushness of a splendorous city and make a very good living?

What Picasso contributed to our society in an earlier century is today, a continuum of a needed spoken voice of individual language which we have inside ourselves infinity.

"WHY "Pablo Picasso? Why the magnitude of importance of Pablo Picasso's seemingly simple paintings and sculptures?

Much of Picasso's studies were more direct life experience, and not always a plethora of delight.

The learned technical knowledge of schooling did contribute to Picasso's repertoire of creative tools. Picasso was said to join others who came from all walks of life, and, ...  some were  -poets, painters, writers, scientists, musicians, and, politicians, as well as a wide variety of people in many other businesses and households, contributing in society. ..with greater commonalities.

Paris at the turn of the twentieth century

PICASSO . PARIS
Paris is know as ONE of the centers of the international art world. Paris took on great precedence during the birth of the Grande Solon, and highlighted some of the most liberated paintings of free expression. Among those paintings, were the impressionists painters who gloriously and freely explored new ways of working. Resulting in nuisances of colours with unjust vibrancy to the magnificent world within the paintings as light was a central focus.

Though it is not always thought of like this, but: Impressionist works were daring in the grande Solon, yet still depicting perspectives in painting which are still most commonly understood as more realistic. Most impressions painting exhibited a sparkle of light unlike any other painting before them, as the painters demonstrated a freedom within the society to interrupt a long historical standard, yet, with refinement and a lust for their own perspectives, and expression, of their magnificent surroundings and a voice for those surroundings as splendorous. Impressionist works demonstrates a more learned society as a whole -within the paintings with their wonderfully soothing stylistic changes. If you study within the contexts of a complete historical time frame, you may be surprised. Though you must keep in mind that many paintings were destroyed in our world history. Yet, the understanding of human history becomes more relevant, and can hold secrets to our future.
It was an important time for Picasso, as he grasped his development of cubism.
Picasso set up a permanent studio in Paris in 1904. His studio soon became a gathering place for the city's most modern artists, writers, and patrons, and society in general. Many of which were simply apart of common place community.
Picasso's early work reveals a prolific interlude with creating art which demonstrates to be far greater than just painting in itself. Though to fully understand his works, inquisitive studies are needed.  As time progressed, Picasso's work changed with extraordinary vigor in his expression for self reflection and societal reflection as an important human statement.

Picasso's Blue Period:
Nearly all of his works were executed in somber shades of blue, and often contained lean, oddly melancholy, and introspective figures which must be seen to better understand what the work is about. One examples of Picasso's Blue Period is "The Old Guitarist" in 1903.
It is said that chemist began making colours of paint at this time and this enabled many to purchase blue paint for the very first time. Natural blue pigment was very very expensive prior to this time, though this does not conclude why "The Old Guitarist" is in such a state. Or who the man playing the guitar was. Was something happening to the society then that would risk the lush surroundings of humanity? Why was PICASSO using the language of his paintings  in such a bleak way? What was it at the heart of the matter? What was happening to the world? Why did the artist become so well noted later? Many articulations of Picasso's meanings during the Blue Period are in the scope of further questions to ourselves today?

BRUCE SPRINGTEEN tribute to PICASSO and the painting the old Guitarist as a very special gift to me at VOSSE.

In the second half of 1904 Picasso's style took a new direction. In these paintings, the colour became more somber, and fragile, yet within that, PICASSO used extraordinary boldness to voice his expression in his chosen language -Picasso continued to make statements within his work. Picasso's later works were generally of bleak sobriety. Or -sobriety meaning of a bleak existence, to speak with more broad language. As it causes us today to ask what was at the heart of meaning exactly within PICASSO'S work? And why are the paintings exorbitantly valuable to human existence today?

The statements which Picasso created were ones that had power to unite people in what was going on in the world with great importance to the painted language Picasso chose to use.

The power of Picasso's paintings struck cords in the hearts of countries beyond his own community -with his endeavors in a well traveled international city that was visited by many to include global royalty even.  The painting: "The Old Guitarist" represented the frailness of each of us and tells a story of PICASSO himself who cared about this man.

Picasso's paintings and sculpture takes greater independent intellectual study to be fully recognized in meaning.  His insinuations of female nudity within cubist form, are often misunderstood, though are far more than about the nude bodies of women and men. These are not happy paintings, and it is very interesting to learn more about what was going on in the world during the time of the Nude Cubist Paintings that Picasso revealed to history, yet he protected the identity of the individual nude woman and man, through his style of painted language.

PICASSO . CUBISM

Between 1907 and 1911 Picasso continued to employ further development of cubism into increasingly small facets of monochromatic planes of space. In doing so, his works became more and more abstract. Generalized representation was still within his reach, yet Picasso's developed intellectual ability allowed him to express works of art in his own form of language, as an individual. PICASSO was eventually seen as influential within his abilities of his developed language with the outcome of his intellectual independent studies which proved the validity of basic simple statement that indeed called out to humanity.

The artist's direct innate consciousness provoked Picasso's direct expressions, resulting later in a global rein of influence that was unexpected and a very lengthy period of time where PICASSO did not surrender his right to expression to the pointed noses of distain.  PICASSO'S works will ring into the future as time goes on if we understood well enough. Picasso's work is ONE of the keys to Humanity within a continuum of peace, as we more fully recognized his intended message.

PICASSO GAVE US LOVE NOTES FROM THE PAST .  NOT FREEDOM IN OUR FUTURE. We as humanity must cherish compassion to others respectfully and even have compassion for our own circumstances what ever they may be, as we continue in our own actions,  as we give the same respect of our selves, and protect the humanity of the world we live in today.

LEARN MORE FROM PICASSO

As we involve ourselves with further understanding of PICASSO, and enjoy his works, it is important to realize that PABLO PICASSO's works are much more than revolutionary, his works are astonishing and fascinating in the complexity of our understanding many languages and forms of languages which are not only invigorating and investigative in our own rights, but which holds the door opened to human freedom and prosperity for all people.

The original article which was posted here was information from the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS.
I did not change that article.
Yet, I did write the article here in the QUARTERLY@VOSSE.
I took the time -stopped, look, read plenty as I discerned errors inperception, and I listen to many others, to bring you a little bit of PICASSO.

August 16th 2013

If you are interested in the study of PICASSO, there are many books at your local library. Or try BOOKs on-line at libraries across the country and also Museums and University Libraries.  There is a very big world of knowledge out there in books worth reading. I recommend comparing the stories in the books with a very keen understanding of the world and the perspectives YOU bring to the world and not always the authors. Study the paintings and write your own story about Picasso directly from the paintings themselves with your individual take on the works and the world!  Though a bit of knowledge in current events, and world history without biased helps.
